Don’t Worry
Quote
"You owe the companies nothing. Less than nothing, you especially don’t owe them any courtesy. They owe you. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don’t even start asking for theirs."

Well, I’m not in the financial situation to be able to purchase many clothes, but I did have an old white shirt that I decided to work on… I made these due to the recent outrage of the Oklahoma personhood bill that just passed, giving embryos personhood rights. I used to be iffy about wearing shirts to school that could get me in trouble, but I feel that the world should know:

I stand with women, and I stand for women. (Also, I love cats >w<)

Things we should internalize about racism:

  • We can be “nice,” “smart,” “compassionate,” “caring” and racist at the same time. None of these are mutually exclusive.
  • It doesn’t matter if we didn’t mean to be racist. Intentions don’t matter. Actions & consequences do.
  • Just because you “don’t hate people of color” doesn’t mean you’re not racist. Racism is subtle, sub-conscious, and ingrained into every fiber of our being.
  • Racism is about social domination by whites. Isolated incidents are only relevant if they relate to greater social truths.
  • Having friendly/romantic relationships with people color does not make us exempt from being racist.
  • We don’t live in a vacuum. Everything we do relates to society as a whole.
  • Prejudice and racism are not the same thing. Only white people can be racist.
  • Just because we’re queer, non-christian, whatever you can still be racist.
  • People of color have more experience with racism than us in the West and regions dominated by the West. Always.
  • It’s not about how we feel. It is not about us.

Text

I will do anything to protect you, to save you, to keep you from harm,

I can only hope that the nightmares I face, of the wrongest wrongs,

Never happen, never occur to your subconscious that they may occur.

I will do anything to keep you, to push you from my arms if that is whats best

To force your life into what you deserve and away from the darkness

I will do anything to calm you, a life without sleep spent guarding,

My lifetime of anxious waiting, of listening at doors, of hiding my pain for your joy.

I want nothing but the loudest, angriest arguments with you over this

With your fire never doused

And your love for life never erased.
